MURMANSK, July 5. /tass/. The modern mobile laboratory "Eskandor", created to solve the tasks of the national project "Safe and high-quality Highways" (BCAD), will conduct a full diagnosis and create a digital twin of the roads of the Murmansk region, the governor of the region Andrey Chibis said on Monday at an operational meeting in the government.

The Escandora roadbed strength measurement system can measure the parameters of asphalt subsidence right on the move at a speed of up to 80 km/h.

"Our task is to digitize the roadbed in order to make decisions about which sections to do first, not just on the basis of complaints, but on the basis of a well-verified technical expertise. Then these digital passports of roads will be in our database, we will monitor how these roads are maintained and promptly repair them. We have become the first region in which continuous diagnostics of highways will be carried out by the most modern mobile laboratory in Russia," the governor said.

As the Minister of Transport and Road Management of the region Artem Grishin explained to TASS, the Murmansk Region is the first of the subjects of Russia who it is able to process the data received from the laboratory "Eskandor". "This is because we have an active Regional Management Center (SDG) and there are primary signs of a digital model of the region, having received the information, we will be able to use it to create a digital twin of the region's roads," the minister said.

Grishin also added that the expanded list of diagnosed roads in the Murmansk region will include those that are being repaired within the framework of the project "Safe and high-quality highways" in Murmansk and Kola, significant transport arteries in Apatity, Kovdorsky district, as well as the road to the popular tourist village of Teriberka. "There are 80 objects in total. The list is not final and may change," the minister stressed.

About the laboratory "Eskandor"

The laboratory "Eskandor" was created by order of "RosdorNIA" to solve the problems of the BCAD. According to RosdorNIA, there are only 20 laboratories of this type in the world. The Escandora roadbed strength measurement system can measure the parameters of asphalt subsidence right on the move at a speed of up to 80 kilometers per hour. Escandor can estimate up to 400 km of roads per day.

In conjunction with other equipment, the laboratory allows you to create a full-fledged digital twin of the road infrastructure, which will be transmitted in real time to the road funds control system (SKDF). This system was also created within the framework of the BCAD, and should become the most complete database with information about highways and their condition. The accumulation of objective data in it and their analysis will increase the efficiency of spending on highways.
