FAI “ROSDORNII” specialists develop special projects for the passage of heavy and oversized vehicles. A special project is designed to assess the possibility of a heavy/oversized vehicle passage and to carry out measures to strengthen engineering structures and ensure transportation safety.
FAI “ROSDORNII” enjoys broad experience in areas related to the passage of heavy vehicles on roads of the Russian Federation. Since 2000, the Institution has been developing special projects for transportation of heavy and (or) bulky cargo on roads of the Russian Federation. The number of implemented projects exceeds 800 scientifically based papers describing the possibility of a travel and special conditions.
To develop special projects, the Institution evaluates the technical condition of roads and artificial structures, develops measures to strengthen them or takes special steps to equip them to ensure the passage of heavy and (or) oversized vehicles.
FAI “ROSDORNII” also develops the Methodology of Compensation for Damage Caused by Heavy Vehicles to Roads, which is described in Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 67 of 31.01.2020.
Similarly, within the framework of the State Contract, the Institution's team developed scientifically based requirements for permissible gross masses and permissible axial loads, which were reflected in Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2200 of 21/12/2020.
