According to the acting deputy Director General of the FAA "RosdorNIA" Ekaterina Bryazgina, the expansion of electric transport in the city will become a serious financial burden for the budget
TASS, November 17. There are no prospects for restoring tram traffic in Astrakhan at the moment, and it will take at least three years for trolleybuses to return to the city. This opinion was expressed to TASS on Wednesday by Ekaterina Bryazgina, Acting Deputy General Director of the FAA "RosdorNIA", who was engaged in the development of the Astrakhan transport planning scheme.
In May, during the Days of the Astrakhan Region in the Federation Council, its chairman Valentina Matvienko announced the need to restore the electric transport system in Astrakhan - trams and trolleybuses - and instructed the members of the Federation Council to assist the regional authorities in this matter.
"In terms of tram transport, unfortunately, I'm afraid that this is already irretrievably lost. It may be extremely expensive to build. And it's not even that it's expensive, but that the place where the reversal rings and so on took place is occupied. Unfortunately, we do not find any prospects in the tram part," Bryazgina said in time of the international forum and exhibition "Transport of Russia".
According to her, the expansion of electric transport in Astrakhan is a serious financial burden for the budget. At the same time, the development of a trolleybus in the city can be economically effective if "the issue of infrastructure is removed from the brackets."
"The restoration of the grid economy, substations, trolleybus fleet - these are years. We offer these activities, they are part of the route network, as part of our work, but they have been postponed a little. At least three or four years will be spent on design, construction, if such a decision is made, conditionally, today," Bryazgina added.
She clarified that if the decision on trolleybuses is postponed, it will take about five years to restore them in Astrakhan.
About transport planning in Astrakhan
Earlier it was reported that the development of a package of transport planning documents will be carried out in the Astrakhan region with the participation of representatives of the FAA "RosdorNIA" by December 1. According to the results of the analysis of the transport situation in the region, experts noted a one-and-a-half excess of duplicated routes on the line, the rolling stock of which is 95% "small" class, the so-called minibuses, as well as the lack of a clear schedule and a non-cash form of payment for travel.
