On March 23, a meeting of the Director General of the Road Institute Stanislav Naboko with the heads and employees of the scientific directorate took place at the site of the FAU "ROSDORNIA". The reports of the heads of departments on the direct activities of structural divisions, ongoing projects and development prospects were heard.
In his welcoming speech, the Director General of the FAA "ROSDORNIA"Stanislav Naboko noted the active participation of the scientific directorate in the implementation of the state task of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, which indicates the relevance of the directions implemented by the specialists of the Institute. According to him, this is one of the largest divisions of the FAA "ROSDORNIA", which is entrusted with very important tasks facing the scientific institution.
"I expect well–coordinated work from the scientific directorate, effective interaction with other structural divisions of the Institute, timely and high-quality solutions to the tasks that the Ministry of Transport of Russia sets for us," he saidStanislav Naboko.
Having previously familiarized with the organization of the work of the scientific directorate, the head
FAA ROSDORNII identified several areas of activity of the Institute's subdivision that are important for the entire road sector: promoting the introduction of advanced technologies in the road sector, technical regulation and standardization in the road industry, conducting research in the field of road safety and road design, related economic research and development in the field of road construction materials.
"Despite the fact that the range of tasks for commercial contracts at the scientific directorate is not so wide yet, I think it is expedient to develop this direction," he stressedStanislav Naboko.

General Director of the FAA "ROSDORNII"Stanislav Naboko was introduced to the progress of work on the creation of a digital model of highways. The corresponding presentation was made by the deputy head of the Scientific DirectorateVitaly Mironyuk. Last year, the Highway Institute announced the beginning of work on collecting spatial data to create a digital model of highways. For these purposes, a mobile road laboratory is used, developed by order of the FAA "ROSDORNIA". It includes a large set of systems for collecting primary data in digital form and transmitting it to the information System for monitoring the formation and use of road funds (SKDF), which is being introduced instead of the Unified State Register of Highways.
Data collection and verification are performed by the operator during the movement of the laboratory, using an on-board computer. Then, after preliminary cameral and vector processing, a digital model of the highway is formed. The use of digital model data when planning activities within the framework of repairs and the maintenance of highways will increase the efficiency of spending budget funds.
The use of a universal road laboratory has already made it possible to collect spatial data on 9 thousand kilometers of public roads of federal significance. The work on the formation of a digital model of federal roads will be completed in 2022. After that, it is planned to start creating a digital model of public roads of regional or inter-municipal significance. All work is carried out within the framework of the implementation of the national project "Safe and high-quality highways".
Also, the Director General of the FAA "ROSDORNII" got acquainted with the modernized laboratory of the institute. Laboratory equipment enables the specialists of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" to test a wide range of road-building materials according to modern standards, including the determination of the performance characteristics of asphalt concrete and the rheological properties of bitumen binders.
