Leading experts of ROSDORNIA took part in a professional development program for industry specialists organized on the basis of CIVSSM
In September 2020, the Civil Engineering Group "TSIVSSM" (Center for Testing, Implementation, Certification of Products, Standardization and Metrology) began a series of monthly online seminars for specialists of the road industry. The first of them – "Designing of road coverings of highways during repair taking into account the modern regulatory and technical base" - takes place from September 21 to 25, 2020. The seminar was organized with the support and participation of the FAA "ROSDORNII", as well as the ANO "Research Institute of TSK", JSC "Institute STROYPROEKT" and the Federal Road Agency (FDA). Its program includes a number of lectures on topical issues of road construction, delivered by leading researchers of the Institute.
The first day of the webinar opened with reports by the Deputy Head of the Department of Construction and Operation of Highways of the FDAAlexey Pchelin and the head of the standardization Department of ANO "Research Institute of TSK"Ilya Galaktionova on regulatory and technical regulation in road management.
The next issue on the agenda was the dependence of the state of roads on loads and traffic intensity. I read a lecture on this topicAlexander Konorev, Head of the department for calculating the structures of road clothes for the movement of heavy vehicles of the FAA "ROSDORNII".
The expert introduced the audience to the classification of typical defects of road surfaces, their features, causes of occurrence and development over time.
"The causes of the destruction of the road surface are natural and climatic factors together with transport loads. But if the former are more or less constant and predictable, the latter require continuous monitoring and analysis of the condition of the roadway," said Alexander Konorev.
During the lecture, the dependence of the degree and nature of roadway wear on the type, weight and dimensions of freight transport, speed modes, traffic flow intensity and dynamic impact of vehicles was shown. Among other things, modern methods of monitoring characteristics were illustrated cargo traffic flow in real time, as well as a method for calculating the residual resource of the road structure and road clothes in real operating conditions is given.
The specialist devoted the second part of the lecture to technologies for assessing the condition of road structures in order to determine the timing and composition of the necessary repairs. The current regulatory framework was reviewed and the methods of field research of the technical and operational condition of road clothes were shown. Among them – both traditionally used in domestic practice, and modern, including such monitoring methods as the inspection of the road surface by georadars, non-stop diagnostic laboratories, etc. The listeners were introduced to new developments of the FAA "ROSDORNII", in particular, with the device of mobile laboratory complexes for assessing the condition of the road network, with the installation "Eskandor", allowing to measure the strength of the pavement, processing up to 300 km of roadway per day, etc. At the end of the lecture, Alexander Konorev spoke about modeling and forecasting the wear of the roadway and introduced the audience to the algorithm of substantiation of design decisions on reconstruction and overhaul of highways.
The first day of training ended with a report by the head of the FKU "Center for Development" of the FDAOleg Shirlin on ways to update the budget and regulatory framework in road construction.
The second day of the seminar included lectures by two experts of the FAA "ROSDORNIA". The first speaker was the head of the Design Methods Department of the InstituteMarina Mikhailenko. She devoted her report to the standards for the design of road clothes according to TR CU 014/2011 "Road safety", classification of the construction of road clothes and methods of their repair, as well as the principles of the choice of materials and technologies during repair work.
"Unfortunately, at the moment, none of the current regulatory documents contain all the terms and definitions used in the design of road clothes. However, this problem will be solved in the standard under development “Public roads. Travel clothes. General requirements", - said Marina Mikhailenko.
In the accompanying lecture In her presentation, she filled in this gap and provided an exhaustive classification of the types of work during the current and major repairs of roads, in fact, types of road coverings and types of coatings that are different in composition, structure and purpose, systematized the design approaches used in the industry, regulatory and terminological bases.
The specialist introduced the students to the classification of pavement defects, their nature and methods of elimination, gave an algorithm for selecting the necessary types of road works and principles for determining the methods of their implementation, told about the main methods used in modern road construction for repairing road clothes and in which cases it is advisable to apply them. The lecture became a detailed practical guide to technologies and materials of road repair.
Irina Rakhimova, Head of the Construction Department of the roadbed of the FAA "ROSDORNII", continued the topic of road surface design. Her lecture was devoted to the design of non-rigid road clothes using standard designs of the new preliminary national standard PNST 390-2020. Expert she told about the content and scope of the PNST 390, the features and features of standard road clothes designs, gave their classification and introduced the audience to the methods of calculating standard designs, their applicability and features of use.
Recommendations on the design of road clothes for sections of automatic weight and size control posts were also presented.
"In the near future, 387 points of the weight and size control system are planned to be put into operation only on the federal highways of the country, and they should work in automatic mode," Irina Rakhimova noted, explaining the importance of allocating the design of road clothes for weight and size control posts to a separate topic.
The lecture materials can serve as a practical guide to the application of the new standard in everyday work.
In addition, the speakers of the second day of the seminar were the leading engineer of the Moscow branch of JSC "Stroyproekt Institute"Maxim Gomylev, who spoke about the application of the system of volumetric and functional design asphalt concrete mixtures in road construction, and Anatoly Ankudinov, Deputy Director of the Civil Engineering Company "TSIVSSM", who introduced the audience to the content and examples of the use of GOST R 58861-2020 "Public roads. Major repairs and repairs. Planning of inter-repair terms".
The audience of the webinar was managers and specialists of customer services, design and contracting organizations, manufacturers and suppliers of materials and products for the repair of highways. At the end of the five-day program of author's lectures, students will have to work independently with the materials provided and subsequent certification. At the end of the training, they will receive certificates of advanced training of the state standard with the entry into the Federal Information System "Federal Register of information on education documents and (or) qualifications, training documents" (FIS FRDO).
