Representatives of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" spoke at the conference

The Forum "Innovative Technologies and Intelligent Transport Systems in Road Construction" was held from 7 to 9 September. The organizer was AVTODOR Group of Companies, the forum was held with the participation of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Rosavtodor.

The Forum brought together two major topics – innovations in road construction and modern trends in the development of intelligent transport systems. For the first time this year, the event was held both in person and online format.

Experts from the Russian Road Research Institute also took part in the sessions and discussions. The topic of intelligent transport systems for the Institute is one of the profile.

On the discussion platform ""Connected" transport. What and what are we connecting to?" Head of the ITS Department of the FAU "ROSDORNII"Vasily Kurguzov touched upon the prospects of intelligent systems, taking into account the vector of development of highly automated vehicles. He spoke about the concept of development The national ITS network, which includes, among other things, the need to create an ITS testing ground, where it will be possible to test technologies, peripheral equipment, as well as simulate traffic on a typical highway or in a city, as well as in areas with reduced noise immunity for navigation and radio signals.

Director of Development of ITS FAU "ROSDORNII"Ekaterina Bryazgina She noted that in order to achieve the greatest effect when implementing ITS, the transport system should have reserves of carrying capacity and throughput, i.e. a certain "maneuver space" when redistributing transport and passenger flows over the network and over time, and also drew attention to the fact that ITS will bring to a new level many aspects of the transport policy of the regions and urban agglomerations, such as the organization of traffic – due to the operational redistribution of traffic flows on the network based on monitoring data of road conditions and traffic parameters (and in the future – and due to the transition from management by prescriptions and restrictions to direct management automated and connected vehicles as part of the traffic flow); transport planning – by increasing the volume and range of available data on the operation of transport, which will be collected in real time by the ITS monitoring subsystem; charging of all types of transport services – due to the possibility of introducing the most flexible differentiation of fees by travel distance, route, time of day, and to many other parameters, as well as through the implementation of contactless fare payment; individual mobility management and the implementation of the principle of "mobility as a service" (MaaS) – through the operation of ITS subsystems and services that provide information to users of the transport system, traffic routing and trip planning.

The third day of the forum was dedicated to modified bitumen binders and the introduction of information modeling technology. The presentation was devoted to the subtleties of the last questionRoman Eremin, Deputy Head of the Department of Methods of designing Highways of the FAA "ROSDONIA". The speaker highlighted the topic of creating a digital model of road structures the country's transport network. He spoke about the advantages of using it and the features of its creation.

Another topical issue that was raised at the conference was an increase in the permitted speed to 150 km/h. The concept of "110-130-150" was discussed in the format of a session all days of the forum. Another speaker from the scientific institute,Boris Anokhin, chief expert of the Department of Transport and operational qualities of highways, touched upon the topic of high-speed highways in the discussion of this issue. He stated that by 2030 their length throughout the country should be 32246 km in accordance with the Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2030, approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated November 22, 2008 No. 1734-R. This is possible by increasing the speed limit, improving the quality of transport services, creating a system of specialized meteorological support, equipping ITS.

The forum "Innovative Technologies and Intelligent Transport Systems in Road Construction" in Sochi lasted 3 days. In addition to round tables, discussions and speeches, a thematic exhibition was held on its basis, the participants of which could organize a live broadcast from the production sites, present their products or hold a presentation of the latest developments.
