The issues discussed concerned the holding of the International Winter Road Congress.
On December 1, using the ZOOM online platform, a working meeting was held, organized by the Ministry of Transport of Russia jointly with the World Road Association (PIARC), dedicated to the holding of the International Winter Road Congress in 2026 on the territory of the Russian Federation. The city of Kazan (Kazan EXPO International Exhibition Center) has been proposed as the venue.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, as the authorized representative of the Russian Federation in the World Road Association (PIARC), the FAA "ROSDORNII", the Federal Road Agency, Russian organizations operating in the field of road management, including the State Company "Russian Highways", the Association "ROSASFALT", JSC "GP I am GLAD", as well as representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of the Republic of Tatarstan and the organization where the Congress is planned to be held. The meeting was held in English, and a consistent English-Russian translation was carried out by the staff of the Department for International Relations of the FAA "ROSDORNII".
The meeting was of a working nature, during which the main organizational issues of the bid campaign for the right to hold the Congress in 2026 were discussed, in particular, the preparation of the application, the procedure and timing of its submission, financial support, as well as the thematic content of the Congress events.
Following the meeting, a decision was made on further joint cooperation between representatives of the road industry of the Russian Federation and the World Road Association (PIARC) in the matter of submitting an application and organizing the International Winter Road Congress in 2026 in Kazan.
