This year Astrakhan region may start purchasing new buses. It is estimated that for the implementation of the transport reform, the preliminary need for updating the rolling stock is 520 units. The application has already been sent.

Last week, at a meeting of the regional government, the progress of the transport reform, which was announced last year, was discussed. Recall that the modernization of public transport is designed until 2026, and it will be implemented in stages. The reform is caused by the unsatisfactory state of public transport, which Astrakhan residents have been experiencing for a long time. Suffice it to say that in the rating of the company Simetra, which is engaged in transport planning, according to the results of 2021 Astrakhan took the last place out of 76 cities participating in the study.

At the beginning of the year, a group of specialists The Russian Road Research Institute (ROSDORNII) presented a package of transport planning documents in which scientists proposed several options for the modernization of public transport. In the documents included proposals for optimizing the route network, updating rolling stock, etc. Earlier it was reported that the first routes of the updated network should appear in October 2022.

The regional government clarified that 100 large—capacity buses, 250 medium—class buses and 170 small buses will be required to upgrade the rolling stock.

Governor Igor Babushkin called on the Ministry of Transport of the region to accelerate the work with documents — they should all be ready by June 30.
The head of the region also instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to prepare an appeal addressed to the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov with a request to support the region in terms of considering an application for the program "Development of public transport". This will make it possible to start updating the rolling stock already this year. "Prices for automotive equipment are growing, and it is important for us that we remain in the preliminary applications and projects, " he quotes Igor Babushkin website of the Astrakhan Administration areas.

We remind readers that the developers of the transport reform proposed to create six new urban routes in Astrakhan, along which large buses will be launched. This is route # 1 "RefrigeratorsFish processing plant — Airport passage", No. 2 "Residential street - Kuban street", No. 3 "Refrigerators of the Fish Processing Plant — Porokhovaya str., No. 4 "Tsarev River — Residential str., No. 5 "Tsarev River - Fish Processing Plant Refrigerators", № 6 «Granovsky Lane - Wallets ave.". These are long routes, with a total length of just over 100 km. Regulated tariffs will apply to them.

The authors of the concept recommended updating the rolling stock, since the existing "blue" buses of a large class will not cope with this function. Even now, Astrakhan residents complain that the "blue" go irregularly, and the fare in them is the same it is high, as in minibuses. The carrier (and it is a private Samara company "Automig"), in turn, complains about the high competition that duplicate minibuses make up. Currently, large buses run on routes No. 19n, 25 and 31.

For example, low-floor and semi-low-floor VOLGABUS-5270 with a passenger capacity of up to 111 people are recommended for operation from the category of high-capacity buses. They are equipped with air conditioning. The same brand is proposed to use medium-class buses with a capacity of up to 65 passengers. «The Paziki, as we used to call them, are planned to be used, in particular, on routes No. 10, 18, 53 and No. 63. This is what they propose to do in the third option of optimizing the route network. And the rolling stock of the minibuses familiar to us is recommended to be updated with small class buses of the brand "Gazelle City" (diesel).
