According to the press service of the FAA "ROSDORNIA", ash and slag additives were collected on the territory of the CHP-2, located in Ulan-Ude. Further, the soil mixed with ash and slag was used by road workers during the repair of the section of the highway "Novoilinsk – border with the Trans-Baikal Territory" with a length of five km. At the last stage, the materials were checked for compliance with the standards.
The results of the study confirmed the suitability of using ash and slag material as a fine filler for different types of road clothes. At the same time, the laboratory specialists noted a higher quality of the soil compared to traditional road mixes.
«Our research has revealed excellent strength characteristics and high frost resistance in ash and slag material from CHP-2," commented Natalia Dedyukhina, head of the testing laboratory. According to her, such a method of strengthening the soil is extremely promising for road construction. This method allows you to reduce the cost of cement, as well as extend the service life of roads without loss of quality.
