A road construction conference “Heavy Machinery for Easy Accomplishments” took part in Briansk on July 26, 2024. Its participants discussed the best practices in the field of road-construction machinery domestic manufacturing and determined the most efficient ways for mutually beneficial cooperation.

FAI “ROSDORNII” delegation, headed by the general Director, Aleksandr Bedusenko, representatives of the Federal Road Agency (ROSVATODOR), “R.O.S.ASPHALT” Association, road construction companies, and road construction and maintenance machinery manufacturers participated in the event.

Hosts of the conference NPO “Machinery and Instrumentation Engineering”, TD “DESNA” briefed visitors on the history of their companies, presented production facilities as well as equipment that is designed and manufactured at Briansk plant.

A new full track asphalt paver “DESNA 2011” attracted special interest of participants. It is designed for paving all types of asphalt-concrete mixes from 2,5 to 13 m wide and from 30 to 300 cm deep. The paver was tested at sections of ROSAVTODOR roads: M-5 “Ural”, M-7 “Volga”, A-289, and A-290. Experts had an opportunity to personally evaluate the paver’s operation, performance, speed and precision during the tests.

ROSATODOR decided to deploy domestic equipment and conduct pilot operation at federal road network this spring. The decision is aimed at retrofitting and developing domestic road-construction and specialized equipment as well as enhancing technological sovereignty of the country.

ROSDORNII carries out the analysis of the road sector needs in the construction equipment and spare parts. The subject of the research is the structure of the road construction equipment market and monitoring of equipment availability for contractors and laboratories. This activity allows to evaluate the current needs of the road sector, its trends and potential opportunities.

The analysis results can be applied for drafting reports, reference materials, proposals, including to prioritize procurement of road and utility construction equipment for import substitution.
