The Institute's experts gave lectures on the construction of road clothes and new technologies
The online seminar "Designing of road coverings of highways during repair taking into account the modern regulatory and technical base" lasted 5 days. Recall that it was organized on the basis of the Center for Testing, Implementation, certification of Products, standardization and Metrology. The webinar was joined by major managers and specialists of industry services, representatives of design and contracting organizations, manufacturers and suppliers of materials and products for road repair. In addition to testing, the last days of the seminar were again devoted to the most pressing issues of the industry.
So, the head of the Department of methods of designing highways of the FAA "ROSDORNII"Alexander Kulizhnikov made a presentation on the construction of road clothes on highways with low traffic intensity (NID), paying attention to transitional type road clothes. The expert immediately identified the importance of the issue, citing statistics:
"We need to understand that a quarter of the settlements in Russia does not have a year-round connection with the network of public roads, and in order to connect them with the "mainland", it is necessary to build about 230 thousand kilometers of new highways, for the most part these will be roads with NID. For comparison, in the USA the share of such is about 80%, in Sweden – about 60%, in Finland – 68% of the total length of the highway network," Alexander Kulizhnikov said.
The speaker continued the story about foreign experience, presenting the criteria for calculating roadways around the world, as well as talking about the design of such roads taking into account their content, drawing attention to the Finnish experience.
Speaking about the experience of the Russian Federation, the speaker showed the Russian functional classification of roads with low traffic intensity, for example: distribution of traffic flow or entrances to industrial enterprises. Further, he already spoke in detail about the design features of road clothes for roads with NID, design solutions, design sequence. The main thesis of this message is that the creation of road clothes should be carried out on the basis of choosing the optimal design solution, taking into account possible content options roads. That is why it is so important to first scrupulously calculate the necessary strength modulus of deformation, and then perform a test for operational reliability: for track formation, for wear of the coating, for frost resistance and for drainage of the pavement. In the speech, attention was drawn to the fact that the initial strengthening of soils allows you to shorten the construction time, reduce construction costs while increasing the service life.
Another report from the scientific institute in this seminar was presented byElena Kashevskaya, Head of the Innovation and R&D Department of the CCC. The lecture was devoted to new and best technologies and materials, the register of which was maintained by the FAA "ROSDORNII". The register is a publicly available information resource about the most modern and best technological solutions that are recommended for use on highways, it allows you to collect innovations on one platform, give recommendations for use on them, this contributes to the expansion of the use of new and best technologies by regions. Currently uploaded to the Registry more than 300 technologies.
The speaker recalled that the passport of the National Project "BCAD" contains a target indicator that determines the share of contracts concluded involving the use of new technologies included in the Register. By 2024, it should be 80%, and instead of the planned 20% for 2020, it has reached almost 58%.
Now a new, more complex, methodology for calculating the target indicator is being developed. It will take into account the contribution of new technology to the durability of the highway. That is, each solution included in the Register will have its own "weight" indicators, depending on which the achievement of the target indicator by the regions will be assessed. The speaker also demonstrated today's figures from the subjects. In addition, she spoke about other areas of modernization of the registry.
In the last days of the online seminar, materials and technologies for horizontal marking, issues of regeneration of road surfaces by cold recycling, modern technologies for the construction and repair of bridge structures were also discussed.
