On April 22, a regular meeting of the General Assembly of the International Road Federation (IRF) was held via videoconference.

Moderator - IRF CEO Susanna Zammataro. The assembly was attended by representatives of the FAA "ROSDORNIA": Deputy Director General Ulugbek Kassymov and Director of Science Andrey Chvanov.

According to the agenda, a vote was held on the election and re-election of candidates to the IRF Board of Directors.

During the meeting, the financial report of the organization for 2019 was presented.

In his speech, the President of the International Road Federation Bill Halkias spoke about the successes that the organization has achieved over the past year, thanked all members of the organization for their assistance in solving global problems of the road industry, separately noting the special contribution of an honorary member of the IRF Board of Directors, a representative of India, Mr. Kiran Kopila.

In the IRF CEO's report Susanna Zammataro was presented with the results of significant events organized by the IRF. In addition, emphasis was placed on the global infrastructure projects implemented by the organization in different parts of the world (in particular, the project on road safety and the creation of appropriate infrastructure in Africa).

It is especially worth emphasizing that on the initiative of the IRF, a useful and informative portal "International Road Statistics" has been created. In 2020, the IRF gives priority to the launch of two major infrastructure projects, for the implementation of which significant funds have been allocated: "A ten-stage plan for creating a safer road infrastructure" under the auspices of the Committee of the United Nations Road Safety Foundation (UNRSF) and the "SHOW" project.

Representatives of the International Road Federations noted that the widespread spread of coronavirus infection has made significant changes in the organization's activities and in the organization of work processes within the IRF. Despite this, the IRF is optimistic about the future and believes that it is necessary reformat your work in the shortest possible time. At the same time, there is no doubt that COVID-19 has had a significant impact on the work of the entire road industry worldwide, and IRF representatives plan to analyze the volume of infrastructure investments in the road industry in the post-coronavirus scenario and form a new global plan for 2021 based on it.

For ROSDONIA, membership in the IRF and participation in the events of one of the world's leading road organizations is another step to build scientific and practical activities in accordance with current global trends in the road industry.
