The conference has been held in the region for many years. In addition to submitting documents on research and technology transfer, capacity building in the field of training has always been one of the main directions of the organization. SATC has always served as a forum for discussing current issues related to transport. The current pandemic forced the organizers to postpone the conference to 2021, but could not stop the desire to share experience and knowledge. Therefore, the SATC and IRF Council decided to organize a series of webinars to discuss key topics that were central to the planned conference, taking into account the current situation.
The first webinar will focus on the impacts that COVID-19 has had and is having on sustainable transport and mobility in Africa and in low- and middle-income countries in general. The situation in these countries is very different from the situation in the countries and cities of Europe, the USA or Australia. It is urgently necessary to discuss and understand the needs in order to find adequate solutions to the problem.
