Construction of the Goradiz-Jabrail-Zangilan-Agbend highway continues

The construction of the Goradiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Agbend highway (Zangezur Corridor), the foundation of which was laid by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, continues at a rapid pace.
The road originates in the village of Ahmedbeyli. Its construction is carried out in accordance with the first technical category.
The first section of the highway with a length of 77 kilometers will have six lanes, and the second section with a length of 46.6 kilometers will have four.
The width of the roadway is 29.5 and 21.5 meters, respectively. According to the project, three tunnels (T1, T2 and T3) with a total length of six kilometers are being built on the highway.
Drilling operations have been completed and concreting is underway in the T1 tunnel with a length of 1,019 meters. Drilling operations are underway on the 450-meter-long section of the T2 tunnel with a length of 1,810 meters and on the 500-meter-long section of the T3 tunnel with a length of 3,171 meters.
Also, the construction of 15 automobile bridges, five overpasses and 54 underpasses is planned on the 123.6-kilometer-long road. Currently, 14 bridges, three overpasses and 38 underpasses are being built on it.
According to the state agency, work is underway on the expansion and profiling, construction of a new roadbed on the first 110-kilometer section of the highway.
The construction work carried out under the supervision of the leadership of the State Agency of Highways of Azerbaijan is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
The Goradiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Agbend highway, being part of the Hajigabul-Goradiz-Agbend-Zangezur highway, is of great importance from the point of view of connecting Zangilan with other regions of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Pashinyan presented road construction programs at the Cabinet meeting

Implementation of road construction programs will continue in Armenia in 2022. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting on Friday.
In particular, this year in the Vayots Dzor region, work will be completed on the modernization of a 17.7 km long highway of interstate significance M-2 (Areni-Arpi-Yeghegnadzor). The Prime Minister noted that within the framework of the program, repair work will be carried out on the Saravan-Saralandj road with a length of 16.9 km.
Pashinyan stressed that significant changes have been made in recent years during road construction works aimed at improving the quality of work. He noted that the roads in the direction of Syunik are not of good quality, expressing hope that the implementation of these and other programs will lead to a significant improvement in the situation.
In this regard, Pashinyan pointed out the importance of upgrading the 3.1 km-long Vardavank-Khndrants-Agarak highway. Similar works will be carried out in Gegharkunik region, where the 5.9 km long Martuni-Astkhadzor road will be overhauled on the interstate highway M-11.
Work will be carried out in other regions of the country. The Prime Minister stated that a huge amount of work is being carried out in the Syunik region alone. He drew the attention of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan to the Tatev-Ltsen road of interstate significance M-2, which should connect with the M-3 road with an exit at the site in Sisian.
The Prime Minister said that in the near future, tender proposals for the construction of the Sisian-Kajaran road section of the North-South transport corridor will be opened, the completion of which will lead to a qualitative improvement of the entire transport infrastructure.
In this regard, Gnel Sanosyan noted that large-scale works have been launched on this 19.9 km long road. At the moment, earthworks have been completely completed on 15.9 km, preparations are underway for its three-layer asphalting.
It should be noted that today the government approved a decision according to which 4,750 billion drams will be allocated for road construction works, of which 4,536 billion drams will be allocated only for road construction, 76 million drams for design work, 16 million drams for expertise, 86 for technical control million drams and maintaining copyright control – 34 million drams.

Belarus
The Development Bank will finance the reconstruction of roads in Belarus

The Council of Ministers has made adjustments to the plan of financing by the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus of state programs and activities in 2022, this is provided for by Government Decree No. 293 of May 13, which is officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
In particular, the government ordered the Development Bank to allocate 100 million Belarusian rubles for the reconstruction of highways in 2022. This must be done by Presidential Decree No. 75rp of April 8, 2022 "On the reconstruction of highways".
Thus, the total amount of financing by this bank of state programs and activities has increased to 788.591 million Belarusian rubles. Initially, the bank had to allocate 688.591 million Belarusian rubles.
The reconstruction of highways in the original version of the financing plan was not provided. The document comes into force from the date of its adoption.
Earlier, the government increased the expenses of the republican road fund by 47 million rubles. Due to this money, the Belarusian component of the project "Republican Bridges and reconstruction of the M-3 highway (Minsk – Vitebsk – Sputnik)", which was initially funded with the participation of the EBRD, increased.
In addition, the regions received 50 million rubles for the repair of local roads and the same amount to repair the road network of settlements.

The construction of the new Druzhba bridge at the Bagratashen checkpoint is at the final stage.
The structure consists of two parallel bridges located at a distance of 1 meter from each other.
It remains to install barriers, build sidewalks, asphalt the road and make markings.
The Druzhba Bridge is a joint Armenian-Georgian project funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Governments of Armenia and Georgia.
