Rosneft Bitumen, the operator of Rosneft's bitumen business, delivered more than 3 million tons of bitumen materials to consumers in 2021. This is the highest result for the entire time of production and sale of these products, an increase of 6% compared to the previous year.
Record figures were achieved thanks to the introduction of new products of the Company to the market, the expansion of its presence in Russian regions, the development of sales channels and the implementation of initiatives aimed at optimizing and improving production and logistics efficiency.
During the year, bitumen installations at the Ryazan and Novokuibyshevskaya sites worked with increased load. Thanks to the early seasonal launch of installations at Siberian refineries – Achinsk Refinery and Angarsk NHK, it was possible to meet the increased demand for bitumen in the regions of Siberia and the Far East.
The development of the bitumen business is associated with the implementation of innovative materials. In 2021, more than 272 thousand tons of them were sold, which is 21% higher than the corresponding indicator of the previous year. Their production was carried out at facilities in various regions - in Moscow, Ryazan, Saratov, Samara, Irkutsk regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Rosneft Bitumen is actively developing production sites for high-quality and uninterrupted supply of high-tech products to road builders.
Rosneft Bitumen paid special attention to the expansion of production and promotion of PG-grades* on the market in accordance with the new national standard. More than 165 thousand tons were sold, which is 42% higher than the corresponding indicator of the previous year.
One of Rosneft's priorities is to strengthen technological leadership and develop the production of innovative materials for road construction. So last year, the polymer-bitumen binder of special purpose PBB Alfabit Bridge, manufactured under the Rosneft brand, was included in the Register of New Technologies and Materials of the Russian Road Research Institute. The register was created as part of the implementation of the national project "Safe and high-quality Highways" for the use of new technologies and materials of the road industry.
