On July 30, a working meeting of the Director General of ROSDORNIA Stanislav Naboko with the heads of FSKU Rosgranstroy Vitaly Shishmarev and ANO "Directorate of International Transport Corridors" Alexey Petrov took place at the site of the Institute.

The topic of discussion was the prospects and possible directions for the development of the international transport corridor "North-South".

Special attention was paid to the reconstruction and expansion of the Makhachkala–Derbent highway, including the construction of the Derbent bypass, which is being designed with the participation of ROSDORNIA specialists. These measures will increase the capacity of the Russian section of the transport corridor and increase the volume of transit traffic.

The North-South International Transport Corridor provides transit communication between the states of Northern and Western Europe with the countries of Transcaucasia, the Persian Gulf, South Asia and India. This is an alternative to the traditional cargo transportation route between Europe and Asia via the Suez Canal. The development of the corridor will significantly speed up international cargo transportation and reduce logistics costs for in this direction.
