FAI ROSDORNII continues its work on the issues of wide use of secondary resources in the projects on the road infrastructure development.
The organization’s representatives took part in two working meetings last week, where they discussed the preparation and implementation of pilot projects on the use of fly ash, secondary resources, which have already been used or are planned to be used in construction and reconstruction of federal roads.
The events were also attended by representatives of the Federal Road Agency, the Circular Economy Department of the PPK “REO”, R.O.S.Asfalt Assosiation and others.
Deputy Head of the Department of Technological Support and Register of New and Best Technologies of FAI ROSDORNII, Vladimir Maryev, noted in his speech that the use of secondary resources is extremely relevant in the context of implementing provisions of industry documents adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation in 2022.
Vladimir Mariev added, "When performing tasks on the use of secondary resources in the road industry, particular attention should be paid to scientific, methodological, technological and laboratory support of such work, as well as the establishment of mechanisms to support innovative technologies."
The improvement of legislation, the creation of a monitoring and data analysis system, technological infrastructure for the use of secondary resources and secondary raw materials in the industry, the development of the market of these raw materials and the formation of demand for products made of them, the formation of regulations of the industrial waste management system, scientific and technical support are of great importance in solving problems and achieving the targets of industry state programs and the Federal Project "Circular Economy".
During the discussion it was also noted that the use of secondary resources in the road industry requires the development of technical solutions that take into account the specifics of their behavior in the road structures.
As a result of the working meetings, the participants have supported the proposal of the Federal Road Agency to hold monthly working meetings in order to ensure the progressive implementation of the action plans for secondary resources, avoid technological errors and negative effects not only for the road industry, but also for the solution of environmental issues associated with waste management.
