On December 1-3, Moscow hosted the XVI All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Prospects for the development of engineering surveys in construction in the Russian Federation" – the largest annual event of the construction industry with the participation of specialists from all regions of the country and from abroad. In addition to professional prospectors, representatives of state authorities, heads of major design and public organizations took part in the conference. On the first day of the event, Roman Eremin, Head of the Department of Innovative Technologies in Engineering Surveys of the FAA "ROSDORNII", made a report on "Methods of comprehensive inspection of the pavement of highways using non-destructive testing methods".

"Many people know that our institute actively uses ground-penetrating radars to solve applied problems of road management. But our experience and field of research are not limited to geophysics alone. When performing works on highways, we strive to increase the objectivity of the results of engineering surveys and surveys. The integration of ground-penetrating radars with other technologies and methods expands the possibilities of solving applied problems. Thanks to the active work of the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Road Agency for the development of the regulatory industry road base, the use of modern technologies, including GPR, is sufficiently fully regulated by the existing regulatory and technical base of the country," Roman Eremin said in his speech.

The expert introduced the audience to the list of current regulatory and technical documents, told about the methods of complex research using georadar equipment, about the application in practice of ROSDORNIA developed by the Institute of mobile laboratories, aerial and ground scanning systems. The practice of geodetic works, methods of field and desk work, the use of various types of equipment were considered. In conclusion, the specialist spoke about various methods of analyzing the data obtained during the study and about creating digital models of road structures, the use of which increases the efficiency of using information about the condition and internal structure during the operation of highways and when performing road works.
