The discussion session of the International Association of Road Congresses (PIARC) was held on April 1. Alexander Perfilov, Acting Head of the Department for Improving the Efficiency of Road Activities of the FAA "ROSDORNIA", took part in the session remotely.

At the beginning of the session, it was emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic is a global emergency in the field of health and society, requiring immediate effective action. In this context, the transport industry and road transport are crucial for the economic life of the country. Effective management of emergencies disrupting the workflow in both the transport industry and road transport requires cooperation and coordination between several stakeholders, including government agencies, road operators, emergency services and road users.

As part of the discussion of the topic, PIARC Secretary General Patrick Malejak, Executive Director of the American Association, made presentations State Highways and Transportation (AASHTO) Jim Timon, representative of the committee "Performance of transport administration" (TC 1.1) Jonathan Spear and other participants.

The main part of the issues discussed was addressed to the US representative regarding the organization of the work of road services, the harmonization of work at the state border and other features of the industry during the pandemic.
