The second day of the international conference "Transport Planning and Modeling" was held in the format of webinars.

Participants were able to participate in 5 round tables devoted to the issues of intelligent transport systems (ITS), transport planning and modeling, investments in urban transport (implementation of PPP projects), practical application of data collection and analysis tools, as well as foreign experience in the development of transport systems.

The issues of the quality of transport planning documents and the introduction of transport models were actively discussed at the round table "Transport planning in the implementation of PPP projects for urban passenger transport". Ekaterina Bryazgina, Director of ITS Development at ROSDORNIA FAU, focused the audience's attention on the presence of a problem that arises during the design and implementation of transport models of cities. "Representatives of the city administration order the development of a high-quality model, but then they do not try or cannot implement it. These are additional financial and image risks for the city. One of the prerequisites for effective implementation – investments in the training of their specialists."

During the course of this session, other, often opposing opinions were expressed. So, Alexey Solovyov (Leader Management Company) was skeptical about mathematical transport models from the investor's point of view, and Evgeny Litvin (MOO CSODD) negatively assessed the use of telephone surveys as a tool for studying public opinion on changes in the transport sector of cities.

The development of ITS in the current situation in the world and in Russia interested the largest number of conference participants – more than 170 people joined the broadcast of "Intelligent transport systems – technologies for mobility". Vasily Kurguzov, the head of the ITS Department of the FAA "ROSDORNIA", noted in his speech that the infrastructure of unmanned and connected transport will occupy a special place in the structure of ITS. The session also discussed traffic light regulation, the introduction of domestic integration platforms (RITM3 from SIMETRA), digital models of roads and technical means for mobility and automation.

At the end of the session "Transport planning and modeling", which lasted throughout Of course, it became obvious that many issues in this sector require a separate conversation. Nikita Anufriev, Deputy Head of the Department for monitoring the development and implementation of transport planning documents of the FAA "ROSDORNII" touched upon the issue of increasing the terms of examination of objects and transport planning documents in connection with the pandemic. Yana Yanko (Stroy Invest Project LLC) shared the experience gained by the organization in the development of transport planning documents. Andrey Pogorelov (VTM Dorproekt-Stolitsa LLC) outlined the features of using mathematical modeling tools in complex planning and design of transport infrastructure facilities.

The main trends and triggers of the development of global transport systems were discussed at the international round table. The session was moderated by Christian Boettger (SIMETRA). European experts shared their experience in optimizing public transport using transport models and life cycle contracts (Uwe Reiter, PTV Group, Germany and Antero Alcu, Alkutieto Oy, Finland), the importance of conducting an independent audit in the implementation of investment projects (Lucia Muncie, Steer, United Kingdom/Italy). The analysis of the features of the integration of electric transport into the urban transport systems of the world's megacities was presented in his speech by Gera Taubkin (WSP, Canada).

The results of the conference, held for the first time in a similar format on April 16-17, 2020, demonstrated a high degree of adaptability of the professional community of transport engineers to the challenges and changes taking place "here and now" and once again confirmed the relevance of the thesis on reforming the public transport system.
