RIVERPORT EXPO 2019: issues of embedding inland waterway transport in infrastructure projects of the road-building block

On October 29-30, 2019, Expocentre Fairgrounds (Moscow) hosted an international forum organized with the participation of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Maritime Board under the Government of the Russian Federation, a number of specialized companies, market regulators, investment institutions, scientific, educational and expert institutions.

Within the framework of the section "Strategic directions for improving the efficiency of freight and passenger transportation on GDP", S.L.Mamulat, Adviser to the Director General of the Federal State Enterprise "ROSDORNII", member of the Board of the International Transport Alliance "One Belt, One Road", made a report "Prospects and tasks of inland waterway transport in ensuring the implementation of national projects and international transit transportation". The report highlighted the prospects for embedding inland waterway transport in the logistics supply chains of national road-building block projects and the tasks of developing the logistics infrastructure of multimodal transportation of construction materials.

The issues raised in S.L. Mamulat's report were discussed during the forum and were voiced in the speeches of other participants (the report "On switching cargo flows from land-based modes of transport to inland water transport" by the Vice-rector of the Admiral S.O. Makarov State University of Marine and River Fleet T.A.Pantina and presentation of design and technical solutions of the Servisterminalgroup company within the framework of the design and construction of the Volga Multifunctional Terminal in the city of Kimry).
