Armenia will receive a compact corridor for the transportation of its goods to Russia through Georgia. However, there is one circumstance — Tbilisi must complete the major transport projects that were started earlier and are still unfinished.

The completion of the construction of the Rustavi — Algeti highway section to the Armenian border will connect Yerevan with the E60 international expressway and allow Armenian goods to reach Russia faster. This opinion was expressed by the director of the Center for the Study of the Georgian Transport Corridor Paata Tsagareishvili in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.

According to him, this will allow Yerevan to indirectly become part of the European project — the international East-West highway (E 60) and get a compact corridor through the territory of Georgia.

Earlier, the Minister of Territorial Development and Infrastructure also stated the importance of implementing this program for both Georgia and Armenia Georgia's Irakli Karseladze. According to him, the project of laying the Rustavi-Algeti road in the direction of Sadakhlo will be a turning point for both Georgia and Armenia.

The East-West highway or the European Transit Road E-60 is very often called the project of the century. It is the second largest European transit corridor, which begins in Brest (France) and ends in Irkeshtam (Kyrgyzstan). In Georgia, the E-60 originates on the border with Azerbaijan and ends at the Black Sea coast, near the port of Poti. On the territory of Georgia, the length of the corridor is 392 kilometers, and one of its "branches" leads to the border with Armenia.

Russia plans to attract about 8 thousand specialists from Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for the construction of the M-12 Moscow— Kazan highway, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told reporters.

The project provides for the construction of a high-speed highway with a length of about 800 km, which will connect the Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod regions, the Republic of Chuvashia and Tatarstan with the network of high-speed highways of the European part of Russia (M-11 "Neva", Central Ring Road, M-3 "Ukraine", M-1 "Belarus", M-4 "Don").

In April, President Vladimir Putin said in his message to the Federal Assembly that the highway under construction from Moscow to Kazan should be extended to Yekaterinburg, and the construction of the entire highway will be completed by 2024. It is expected that the travel time on the new highway from Kazan to Yekaterinburg will be reduced by half: from 14 to 7 hours.
